Welcome to Novi Sad
Novi Sad is located in north of Serbia and is economic and administrative center of province of Vojvodina. Also, it is situated in Panonian plain, underneath Fruška gora mountain and on the banks of river Danube. Name of Novi Sad in translation on English means new city which is related to history of this place.
History of Novi Sad is more than 300 years long, but it is full of events important to history of Serbian nation and this region. Development of Novi Sad is directly connected with construction of Petrovaradin fortress. Today Novi Sad is home to many institutions which have exceptional importance in history and culture of Serbian nation, such as: Matica Srpska (oldest institution which preserves Serbian language), second oldest high school in Serbia, Serbian national theater (oldest professional theater in Serbia), University of Novi Sad, museums and so on.
Novi Sad is second largest town in Serbia with population of 400.000 people. Due to the laid back character of the people and a little slower pace of life Novi Sad has managed to preserve charm of small town. One of the most important characteristics of the City is multi-ethnicity, multiculturalism and multi-confessionalism, with 18 recognized ethnic minorities, which have always lived here in peace and harmony. Beside that, University of Novi Sad is second largest university in Serbia. This makes Novi Sada also City of youth with stunning night life.
Main tourist attraction of Novi Sad is Petrovaradin fortress, which was built as military structure and now is place of gathering and place of many festivals (most popular festival held on Fortress is EXIT Music Festival). Also on fortress there is museum, many art studios, restaurants and pubs. Most famous attraction of Petrovaradin fortress is Clock tower, where small hand shows minutes and big hand shows hours so sailors on Danube could see exact time. Also interesting is tour of underground military catacombs.
Other poplar place for sightseeing is Old City Center with many beautiful buildings, statues, museums and galleries and where architectural style of secession predominates. Some of the sites that shouldn’t be missed are: Town hall, Name of Mary Catholic Church, Orthodox Church of St. George, Museum of Vojvodina, statues of Svetozar Marković and Jovan Jovanović Zmaj etc. Also Old City Center is the hot spot for night life. Beside this, very popular place in Novi Sad is City beach Štrand. During the summer months many concerts are held here and lot of people come here to swim and have fun.
Other than these, Novi Sad is home to many original and very popular festivals, as well as many important sport events. Finally, people who live in this city and gastronomy give special flavor to Novi Sad. In any case, here everyone and anyone can find there own special place.
Novi Sad is easily accessible, since international roads E-75 and E-70 pass just next to it, so that the arrival by train, bus or car is very easy and convenient, and most of Central Europe is just a few hours drive away. In addition, the Nikola Tesla airport in Belgrade is located just 60 minutes drive from Novi Sad. Finally, the average temperature in Novi Sad in July is between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius.

Novi Sad is well connected and easily accessible from all parts of Europe. In the vicinity of the City is the international road E-75 and only 30 kilometers south is the international road E-70. This makes Novi Sad easily accessible by car.
Road E-75 connects Northern and Central Europe with Southeast Europe. This road passes net to the Novi Sad and directly connects Novi Sad with Budapest and Vienna.
South of Novi Sad, 30 kilometers away passes international road E-70. This road connects Ljubljana and Zagreb with Belgrade where it connects with road E-75. In order to come to Novi Sad via this road people should disconnect near Ruma.

HOW TO COME RACE EVENT IN NOVI SAD:
If you are coming from direction of Budapest – Hungary
After the border, follow the highway; pass next Subotica and 100 km after you will come to Novi Sad. Take the second exit for Novi Sad and follow the road. After you go over the bridge take the first turn right (before the traffic lights) and follow the road all the way around under the bridge, until you make the full circle. Here you will come to the crossroad where you need to turn left. Follow the road to the end and than turn right. Follow the road underneath 2 bridges and past several traffic lights. After the road turns to the right follow the road and on the third traffic light turn left. Following the road you will come to the roundabout, where you need to turn right and underneath the bridge turn left. Go up the embankment and you are there. The box is inside of the gates, where our people will be waiting for you.
If you are coming from direction of Zagreb – Croatia
After the border follow the highway for Belgrade and after 55 km take exit for Ruma. Follow the regional road passing next Ruma. After a long strait follow the road right for Irig. After you pass through village Irig, follow the road over the mountain Fruška gora. Several kilometers after you go over the Fruška gora mountain you will see the sign for Novi Sad city center, so follow the sign left. This will take you to the tunnel and over the bridge (which goes directly over the place where the race will be held). On the first traffic light after the bridge go left, and than again left on the next traffic light. At the end of the road go again left, this will take you underneath the bridge where you need to go right, up the embankment and you are there.
